Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. What BidCanada is

BidCanada is a marketplace that facilitates online auctions between private buyers and private sellers of vehicles. BidCanada does not take title to, inspect, warrant, or guarantee any vehicle. BidCanada never holds vehicle funds — payment for the vehicle is made directly between buyer and seller.

2. Private party sellers only

Listings may be submitted only by individuals selling their own personal vehicles. Dealers and commercial sellers may not list on BidCanada. Submitting a dealer-owned vehicle is a violation of these terms and grounds for removal and a ban.

3. Fees

4. Bidding

A bid is a binding commitment to purchase at your bid amount if you win. Bidding requires a verified phone number and a valid card on file. Auctions run 7 days with a soft close: a bid in the final 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes. Proxy bidding places only the minimum needed to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum; your maximum is never disclosed. Sellers may not bid on their own listings directly or through associates — shill bidding results in a permanent ban.

5. After the auction

The winning buyer must complete payment to the seller within 7 days using wire transfer, bank draft, or certified cheque. Buyers who fail to pay are flagged; repeated non-payment leads to suspension and a permanent ban. Vehicle transfer, registration and applicable provincial taxes are the responsibility of the buyer and seller.

6. As-is sales and liability

Every vehicle is sold as-is, where-is. Sellers are responsible for accurate disclosure; buyers are responsible for their own due diligence. BidCanada's liability is limited to the fees you paid to BidCanada. BidCanada cannot compel payment or vehicle transfer.

7. Disputes

Buyer or seller may file a dispute within 14 days of auction close. BidCanada reviews all disputes and may warn, suspend, or ban accounts, remove listings, and refund the buyer premium in cases of confirmed fraud or material misrepresentation. The buyer premium is not refunded for buyer's remorse, financing issues, or buyer non-payment.

8. Account termination

BidCanada may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
